Styled portrait sessions
I wanted to first start this by saying you do not have to be a model to book a styled portrait session with me. My styled sessions are open to couples, friend groups, single portraits and any kind of portrait session you are wanting to book. I wanted to open up these kind of shoots that you would normally only see with models and editorial photoshoots, to all my clients. This is a great way to get unique photos from what would of been a normal photoshoot.
Styled shoots are different from normal photo sessions. Styled sessions begin with a theme or idea for the overall look for the shoot. I love putting together mood boards to really show the concept and color scheme of the session. Below is a mood board that I put together for Modcloth and a few shots from the session. The concept was a very summer look with a modern vintage style.
Styled shoots can also include things that I wouldn’t use in a normal portrait session like props. For this photoshoot with Pj, we used a picnic set up and a vintage cassette player.
A great way to help me style and pick the best location is to have concept that you are wanting to do. Below is an example from a shoot that I did with my client Chamberlain. He came to me with an idea of doing a 90’s theme shoot, with more of an industrial location look. I was able to make a mood board for the shoot and find the perfect location based off his idea.
Another example from last fall was a styled shoot that I put together for a Sabrina inspired witch shoot. I used the mood board as an example of what the shoot would look like so my models knew what to expect from the shoot. Halloween styled shoots are always my favorite ones to do and this shoot will always be a favorite of mine.
To book a styled shoot with me, all you need is a rough idea of what you would like your shoot to be and we will work together to make a unique photoshoot. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about booking a styled shoot!
