How to prep wedding details for you wedding photographer

Detail photos are the photos that photographers take of your invitations, jewelry, wedding dress, etc. You spend a lot of time planning out the details of your wedding and having them captured in a beautifully styled way, will give you something to look back on. In the post, I’ll share some tips on what to have ready for your photographer to get the best possible photos!

Most photographs will want to capture these details when they first arrive. Not only does it help stick to the schedule to do them early, but it also helps everyone warm up to there being a photographer in the room.

For these photos to go as smoothly as possible, you will want to have everything ready BEFORE the photographer gets there. Have all the items in a box ready to be handed to the photographer. Make sure your dress and veil are steamed and that you have a nice hanger. I like to take all the items to a nice area with good lighting. This could be in a separate room or even outside! Once this is done I like to set the bride up in a nicely lit area to get dressed and put on her jewelry. These photos are not just for the bride, make sure you let your photographer know if the groom would also like these photos!

What’s included in these photos is entirely up to you! Below you will find a checklist to give you an idea of what to bring.
